Eczacıbaşı Istanbul is a Turkish volleyball club whose women's team has dominated the Turkish league since the late 1960s and has been champions 28 times.

history

Eczacıbaşı Istanbul was founded in 1966, the main sponsor is Eczacıbaşı Holding . Initially, men's volleyball, men's basketball and table tennis were also played. Since the early 1990s, however, Eczacıbaşı has focused on women's volleyball. Since 1968, women have won the national championship 28 times and the cup eight times. They reached a European Cup final nine times, with the European Cup Winners' Cup won in 1999 . Since 1999 they have been playing in the Champions League almost continuously and have reached the Final Four five times. In 2015 the club won the Champions League for the first time, and shortly afterwards also the volleyball club world championship .
