The Eczacıbaşı Holding A.Ş. is an internationally known Turkish producer of pharmaceuticals , building ceramics and personal care products. The company was founded in 1942 by Nejat Ferit Eczacıbaşı and is based in Istanbul.

Brands and production companies

In Germany the company u. a. the brands VitrA , Engers Keramik and burgbad . Even before the takeover of Engers in 2006, Eczacıbaşı was serving 13 percent of the German tile market, now it is almost 20 percent.

V&B Fliesen GmbH was taken over by Villeroy & Boch on July 1, 2007 with a 51 percent share. This share was increased in the following years.

Eczacibasi is one of the largest tile manufacturers in Germany. In the sanitary ware sector, the company is the sixth largest manufacturer in the world with 6.2 million units.

Production plants are maintained in Turkey (e.g. in Bozüyük ) and several European countries. In Germany, tiles are produced at the Merzig / Saarland location. The plant in La Ferté-Gaucher / France was closed at the end of 2019.
