Neas Energy is a Danish energy company. It trades in electrical energy , natural gas and emission rights in the European energy market and specializes in the optimization and generation management of renewable energies ( wind energy , solar energy and hydropower ). The company is based in the Danish city ​​of Aalborg , but is active in the entire European market. Neas has a portfolio of over 6,546  MW of installed capacity from renewable energies, 2,100 MW of installed capacity in CHP systems and supplies consumers with an annual energy volume of 1.1 TWh. The company also trades in natural gas, guarantees of origin (GoOs) and other certificates (RECS, ROCS, VERs, etc.) that provide information on the use of renewable energies and pollutant emissions . Neas supports the United Nations Global Compact .

history

Neas Energy was founded in 1998 as Nordjysk Elhandel A / S by four Danish energy supply companies; AKE Net (Aalborg), Nyfors Enterprise A / S ( Brønderslev ), Frederikshavn Forsyning A / S ( Frederikshavn ) and Thy-Mors Energi Holding A / S ( Nykøbing Mors ). Since it was founded, the business fields have been energy trading, risk management and market management for both producers and consumers of electricity, as well as energy production management and portfolio management. On April 15, 2011, it was sold to an investment group consisting of the private investment companies SEBC Holding ApS and Dreisler Invest A / S, as well as executives from Nordjysk Elhandel A / S. At the same time, the new company name Neas Energy was created from the acronym of the old name . The group parent company Neas Holding A / S owns 100% of the shares in Neas.

In 2016, NEAS was acquired by the British energy company Centrica plc for 1.6 billion DKK . accepted.
