Necdet Yıldırım (born January 30, 1943 in Samsun , † November 1, 1969 ibid) was a Turkish football player . Through his work for Eskişehirspor he is associated with this association.

Player career

Yıldırım began his club football career in 1954 at Samsun Yolspor . He later played for the youth teams of Fener Gençlik SK and Yolspor .

At Kayseri Şekerspor he began to play in the men's team for the first time. Due to his military service, he had to pause his career at Kayseri Şekerspor and instead played for the military team Muhafızgücü during his military service .

In 1966, with the end of his military service, he moved to the 1st Lig to Eskişehirspor . With this club he was able to win the Başbakanlık Kupası straight away . He quickly established himself in the starting line-up and was promoted to national team in 1968. After Yıldırım was diagnosed with colon cancer in the spring of 1969 , he retired from his career.

National team

Yıldırım was as part of a scheduled October 23, 1968 World Cup 1970 qualifying game against the Northern Irish national team from the then national coach Adnan Süvari for the first time in the squad of the Turkish national team . In this game he played from the start and made his international debut.

death

In 1969, Yıldırım was diagnosed with colon cancer. In February 1969, Yıldırım traveled to London to seek treatment for his cancer . Although Yıldırım was operated on several times, he died on November 1, 1969 in his hometown of Samsun and was buried here in Asri Cemetery.
