Nedda El-Asmar
Nedda El-Asmar (* 1968 in Aalst , East Flanders Province , Belgium ) is a Belgian goldsmith of Palestinian descent.
Life
El-Asmar grew up in Overijse in the province of Flemish Brabant . She attended the BKO.KUNSTSCHOOL before she attended the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen with a focus on jewelry production. During this time of study, materials were copper and silver, and she learned the techniques of forging, forming and soldering. Polishing and patination. After graduating from the Academy, she went to the Royal College of Art in London.
In 1997 El-Asmar was awarded a Sterckshofopdracht, an order from the Sterckshof Silver Museum . The museum bought their Central Park service in 2001 . In recent years she has designed for well-known companies such as Christofle , Hermès , Puiforcat , Eternum and Robbe & Berking .
From 2007 to 2014 El-Asmar was a lecturer at her previous training facility, the Royal Academie in Antwerp .

- 2004: Prize Design Vlaanderen for her cutlery Piu .
- 2008: Prijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap voor Architectuur en Vormgeving in the design class.
