Edwin "Neddy" Lee (born May 4, 1878 in Hyde ; † 1940 ) was an English football player .

Career

Lee joined Newton Heath in May 1898 from the Hurst Ramblers , who played in the Football League Second Division . In the 1898/99 season Lee was alongside Henry Boyd , Joe Cassidy and William Brooks one of the club's four center- forwards and had to wait until March 1899 for his debut against Lincoln City . Both goals in a 2-0 win against Barnsley FC and the 1-0 winner four days later against Luton Town secured him a place in the team for the last few games. Also at the beginning of the following season Lee was a center forward on the starting line-up, but lost his place in the team after the third day of the game and did not make a final appearance until April 1900 before leaving the club at the end of the season.

In 1903, Lee was the trainer at Hyde St George's when the club started its first season in the Lancashire Combination .
