Neibsheim has been a district of the large district town of Bretten in Baden-Württemberg with around 1,800 inhabitants since 1972 .

history

Traces of first settlements in what is now Neibsheim's district probably date from the first century AD.

Today's place itself was first mentioned in a document in 770 under the current name "Neibsheim". From 1365 the village belonged to the Speyer cathedral chapter.

In the centuries that followed, the residents had to endure several arguments. The aftermath of the Thirty Years' War made the village difficult. In 1674 Neibsheim was sacked again. Afterwards it was under French occupation for a few years.

In 1802 Neibsheim left the property of the Speyer bishopric. From 1810 the 2nd Landamt Bruchsal, later the District Office, ran the administration. In 1936 Neibsheim was assigned to the Bruchsal district . On March 1, 1972, the place was incorporated into Bretten and is now one of ten (including the core city) districts.

Infrastructure and economy

The district road 3506 runs through Neibsheim, there is no rail connection. The KVV bus line 141 runs from Gondelsheim to Bretten and back.

In the village there is a bakery branch, several butchers as well as a farm shop and two greengrocers.

A kindergarten and elementary school are available in Neibsheim for educational purposes.
