Neil Zaza (* in Northfield , Ohio ) is an American melodic guitarist who is best known for his special playing technique and the mixing of classical music and modern guitar sounds .

Life

Zaza began playing guitar at the age of ten and studied classical guitar at the University of Akron . His teacher at the time was the artist Stephen Aron. Then Zaza gave guitar lessons himself.

In 1987 Neil Zaza founded the rock band Zaza , which quickly became a successful touring band in the USA . After many successful concerts and one hit, Maybe Tomorrow , the band broke up and Zaza began a solo career. In 1992, Zaza's first music album, Two Hands, One Heart, was released . The album was highly acclaimed by critics, largely for the combination of classical music and modern guitar sounds. In 1993, Thrills and Chills followed . In the same year he appeared as a guest guitarist with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and played pieces such as 1492 or West Side Story . In 1996 Zaza performed at the Montreal Guitar Festival . In 1997, Zaza's third album Sing was released . The song I'm Alright became a long-running hit among Zaza's fans . Hundreds of cover versions of the piece exist on the Internet platform YouTube . In 2001, Zaza recorded a cover version of the Prince song Purple Rain and in 2006 he released his album When Gravity Fails .
