course

The Río Neila rises in a mountain cave in the Sierra de la Demanda in the far east of the province of Burgos about 5 km northwest of the village of Neila and flows first in a southeast, then later in a northerly direction through the La Rioja region to join the Río Najerilla at Villavelayo flow out.
