The Nelchina Glacier is a glacier in the US state of Alaska on the northern flank of the Chugach Mountains .
geography
The 37 km long valley glacier has its nutrient area at an altitude of 2300 m in the Chugach Mountains on the northern flank of Mount Valhalla . The glacier, which has an average width of 3.2 km, initially flows in a northeastern direction, later in a north-northwestern direction. The glacier ends at an altitude of around 750 m . The Sylvester Glacier ends at the western edge of the glacier tongue . The glaciers are being drained via the Nelchina River to Tazlina Lake .
