The Tazlina River is a 48 km long right tributary of the Copper River in southern Alaska (USA).
The Tazlina River forms the outflow of the Tazlina Lake on the northern flank of the Chugach Mountains , which is fed by the Tazlina Glacier . The Tazlina River flows eastward parallel to the Glenn Highway and flows 11 km southeast of Glennallen into the Copper River , which flows to the Gulf of Alaska . The river is crossed 8 km above the mouth by the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and 3 km above the mouth by the Richardson Highway . The Tazlina River drains an area of 6890 km². The mean discharge at the mouth is 115 m³ / s. During the snow and glacier melt in July and August, the highest runoffs occur in the year.
The name of the native inhabitants of Alaska for the river was documented in 1848 by Rufus Serebrenikov as "Tlieshitna". Henry Tureman Allen used the spelling "Tezlina" in 1887.
