The Tazlina Lake is a lake in the south of Alaska , 72 kilometers north of Valdez and 45 km west of Glennallen .
Tazlina Lake is a glacial edge lake on the north side of the Chugach Mountains . The 158 km² lake is at an altitude of 544 m . The elongated lake leads from the southern end of the lake 16 km to the north and then turns almost 18 km to the northeast. Its width in the southern section of the lake is 5.5 km. The Tazlina glacier ends at the southern end of the lake. The Nelchina River flows into Tazlina Lake on the northwestern shore of the lake. The Tazlina River , a right tributary of the Copper River , drains the lake at its northeastern end. The Glenn Highway runs about 10 km north of the lake.
