The Nelson Nunatak is a mostly icy nunatak in East Antarctica Victoria Land . In the Victory Mountains, it rises in the middle of the Hand Glacier .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Thomas R. Nelson, a construction mechanic at McMurdo Station in 1967.
