Neoman

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Neoman group of companies was created in 2001 through the takeover of Neoplan by MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, Munich. It manufactured buses and bus chassis of various types, which continued to be sold under the brand names Neoplan and MAN. As of February 1, 2008, the company was legally merged with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG as part of the integration of the bus division of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG and thus ceased to exist. Unaffected by this, the two bus brands MAN and Neoplan will continue to be marketed as part of a differentiated two-brand strategy. B. does not provide for city buses or intercity buses for Neoplan. The former Neoplan branch of Gottlob Auwärter GmbH & Co. KG in Pilsting was transferred to the newly founded Viseon Bus GmbH in April 2009 as part of a management buy-out by the former Neoman and Neoplan managing directors Joachim Reinmuth and Ernö Bartha .

Specifically, as a wholly owned subsidiary of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, the group consisted of the following companies from 2001 to 2008:

  • MAN Bus GmbH (coaches, intercity buses, city buses, bus chassis)
  • Neoman Bus GmbH, Salzgitter, city buses and chassis
  • Neoplan Bus GmbH (coaches, intercity buses, city buses; innovations that have often received much attention, e.g. the first low-floor buses ) with the Pilsting and Plauen locations, and until 2005 also the Stuttgart-Möhringen plant.
  • MAN Star Trucks & Buses (merger of Star Trucks and MAN Bus Polska; production of (city) bus components buses in Poland )
  • MAN Türkiye AS, known as MANAS (coach and intercity bus production in Ankara / Turkey , e.g. A72, A74, A78, R07, R08, R09)
  • Joint venture Lion's Bus Company (between MAN and the Chinese company Yutong ; production of chassis for buses in Zhengzhou / PR China )
