Neptune swimming pool

The “Neptun” indoor swimming pool in Rostock was opened on October 7, 1955 after three years of construction, and at that time it was one of the most modern swimming pools in Europe .

location

The Neptunschwimmhalle is located in the Hansaviertel district of Rostock at Kopernikusstraße 17. The Ostseestadion and the CJD Jugenddorf-Christophorus School are nearby .

history

In December 1956, diver from seven nations met for the first time in the Neptun swimming pool for the International Diving Day. Since then, this competition has taken place in Rostock every year. It has developed into an important international event.

Since 1971, the Neptun swimming pool has been the training and play facility of the successful HSG Warnemünde water polo club with around 70 members.

Facility

The indoor swimming pool Neptun has two sports pools and a separate non-swimmer pool. The first sports pool has six lanes with a length of 25 m. The second lap pool has a length of 50 m.

There is also a 10 m diving platform at a separate diving pool.
