The division of living beings into systematics is a continuous subject of research. Different systematic classifications exist side by side and one after the other. The taxon treated here has become obsolete due to new research or is not part of the group systematics presented in the German-language Wikipedia.

The nestling relatives (Nidulariaceae) were a family in the now also obsolete order of nestling-like (Nidulariales). The genera it contains are now counted among the mushroom relatives .

features

The nestling relatives include small, epigeic (on the substrate) mushrooms. The spores are formed in one or more separate peridioles , small gleba chambers 1–2 mm in size , which are enclosed by a secondary peridia . These peridioles develop on a tramastrod connected to the base of the fruiting body , the funiculus, which, when ripe, becomes slimy on the base of the fruiting body and is retained on the peridioles and serves to attach the ejected peridols.

Genera

The family comprised 5 genera with around 60 species worldwide.
