It is located on the south side of Neue Straße in the Buckau district of Magdeburg . The building, which is also a listed building, borders on Neue Straße 16 to the east .
Architecture and history
The representative four-storey building was built in 1889 for master potter Carl Becker. The six-axis facade, made of yellow bricks and plastered surfaces, is designed in the neo-Renaissance style. There is rustication on the ground floor . In addition to the front building on the street side, side and two rear buildings and thus also two inner courtyards were built. Becker's pottery workshop was set up in the last rear building.
In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82621 .
As part of the street line that has been preserved from the Wilhelminian era, the building is characteristic of the street scene and is an example of a typical apartment building from the construction period.
