Career

Butler was born in Germany , but is of American descent and therefore a dual citizen. He was active for youth teams at FC Augsburg until he was C-youth , before moving to the FC Bayern campus . As a 16-year-old, Butler already played two games for the Munich U19s in the UEFA Youth League and in his last B-youth season, which he finished as German runner-up, scored eight points in 21 games this season. However, the striker had missed eight games due to a hamstring . At the age of 17 he already weighed 82 kilos with a height of 185 cm and was firmly integrated into the club's A-youth. Butler did not score in the Bundesliga , the Youth League or the Junior Cup, but played briefly for the regional league team in October 2018 .

In the summer of 2019, the German-American left Munich and joined the A-youth of the third division club FC Ingolstadt 04 . Until the end of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he scored six goals in 17 competitive games, after being settled by the quotient rule, he was eighth with Ingolstadt. After he had already played for the Bayern League team once in October 2019 and played once for the professionals in the Totopokal , head coach Tomas Oral nominated him for the home game against Waldhof Mannheim on matchday 35. Butler was finally brought on when the score was 2-0 together with his A-youth team-mate and compatriot Jalen Hawkins in the closing stages.
