Neue deutsche Quelle is the debut album by the German rapper Sa4 . It was published on November 10, 2017 via the label 187 Strassenbande and is distributed by distri . The album was released as a standard edition as well as a box set, including instrumentals and two EPs.
Content and production
New German source belongs to the gangsta rap genre. Sa4 raps mainly about drug trafficking and life on the streets of Hamburg .
Almost the entire album was produced by Jambeatz , the music producer of the 187 street gang. Only the instrumentals for Olay Molay and Bunker come from Goldfinger Beatz and Sonus030.
Cover design
The album cover is in black and white and shows Sa4 crouching on a scrapped car and looking at the viewer. In the foreground are the white lettering Neue deutsche Quelle and Sa4 . A block of houses can be seen in the background. The artwork was designed by Bobby Analog.
Guest Posts
In addition to Sa4, other artists are represented on ten of the 15 songs on the album. The other rappers of the 187 street gang appear several times. So Allstars a collaboration with Maxwell , Gzuz , LX and Bonez MC . Gzuz can also be heard on Schnellmachen and Schall und Rauch , while Bonez MC has other guest appearances on Schnellmachen and Krokodil . LX supports Sa4 once again with Focus on Plus and Maxwell is represented again on Forza 187 . Sa4 works with AK Ausserkontrolle at Bunker , while the rappers Hasan K and Gringo can be heard on Olay Molay . Other guest contributions come from Soni ( Rush Hour ) and Stik ( Just like us / When the sun goes down ).

Neue deutsche Quelle entered the German album charts at number 3 on November 17, 2017 and stayed in the top 100 for four weeks.
On October 13, 2017, the first single, Schnellmachen, was released for download . It reached number 11 in the German charts. The second release, Rush Hour, followed on October 27, 2017 and was ranked 59th in the German charts. Among the songs Rush Hour and Allstars were music videos rotated. The latter rose to position 15 on the charts after the album was released. Another video about Olay Molay appeared on November 24, 2017 .

Dominik Lippe from laut.de rated Neue deutsche Quelle with three out of a possible five points. Sa4 leaves “neither a particularly innovative impression, neither technically nor in terms of content”, as it is thematically “almost exclusively limited to the sale of drugs” and rapping “with a raw, little variable flow”. The productions by Jambeatz, on the other hand, are praised and create "ominous atmospheres that correspond perfectly with the parallel society described".
Musti from rap.de rated the album positively. In terms of content, "not much is happening except the usual chatter about drugs, money and the illegal lifestyle", but it is "simply implemented very well". Neue Deutsche Quelle “lives from its gloomy mood and transports the charmingly rough sound of the Hamburg streets into the headphones”. It delivers "rap in its purest form".
