Neuenried is part of the municipality of Aitrang in the Swabian district of Ostallgäu . The village is about two kilometers northwest of Aitrang.

On May 1, 1978, the formerly independent community of Huttenwang with its districts of Neuenried, Umwangs and Wolfholz was incorporated into Aitrang.
