Neural migration disorder

A neuronal migration disorder is a disorder of brain development during embryo or fetogenesis in which the migration ( cell migration ) of neuroblasts from the germinal layers in the germinal matrix zone to their final location in the brain does not occur normally.

This migration begins from the eighth week of pregnancy along radial glial fibers .

The following classification is common:

Depending on the form of the migration disorder, different degrees of epilepsy can occur.
