New Germany is a village in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia . In 2011, 447 people lived there on an area of 2.49 km². The place is located on the LaHave River , about 123 kilometers (91 kilometers as the crow flies) southwest of Halifax .
history
New Germany was founded by German immigrants in the 18th century. The place is located in Lunenburg County , which with the largest city Lunenburg had a high density of German immigrants.
education
The New Germany Rural High School (grades 7–12) is located on School Street in New Germany and also serves as a secondary school for other places in the area. Not far from there is a primary school (New Germany Elementary School ), which teaches around 200 students up to sixth grade.

New Germany is connected to the Nova Scotia transport network via Trunk Highway 10 and Highway 208.
