New Orleans Festival

The New Orleans festival is since 1998 a year-find jazz - and blues - Festival in Innsbruck , Tirol , with free admission. A similar concept has been implemented in Fürth / Bavaria since 1999 . With free admission, concerts take place every year on three days in the middle of the city, with mostly blues and jazz bands performing. In 2019 the Fürth New Orleans Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary.

After a stay in Innsbruck's twin city New Orleans , Markus Linder conceived and organized the festival for the first time in 1998 in collaboration with Innsbruck City Marketing.

The festival takes place annually at the end of July. The Innsbruck market square serves as the performance location. The duration is between four days and a week.

2007

In 2007 Les Getrex and his band Creole Cooking headlined the New Orleans Festival. He performed on both Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th. On Sunday he offered musical contributions to the publicly held gospel brunch .

Other artists were STB Dixie Train, Talismen Blues Band, The Gang feat. Tyrolean Blues All Stars, Clari Musi, Alpendollar, Hot Rod and Jazz Orchester Tirol.

2016

In 2016, the festival took place for the first time at Innsbruck Landhausplatz because the market square was closed due to construction work. Larry Garner was the headliner ; he performed with his band on July 22nd and 23rd.
