The New Year Nunatak (English for Neujahrnunatak is) a coastal Nunatak in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises in the center of the Manning Nunatakker in the southeastern part of the Amery Ice Shelf .
1957 aerial photographs of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions were used for mapping purposes. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named him after the visit that Soviet scientists paid him on New Year's Day 1966.
