The Newburgh Point is a headland of Lavoisier Island in the group of Biscoe Islands west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It represents the northwestern extension of the island.
Aerial photographs of the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (1958–1959) were used to map them. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the US physiologist Louis Harry Newburgh (1883-1956), who had dealt with the thermoregulation of the human body and the right clothing for polar regions.
