Nişan-ı Şefkat
The Nişan-ı Şefkat ( Ottoman نشان شفقت İA Nişān-ı Şefḳat , German 'Charity Order ' ) was an Ottoman order that was only awarded to women and was divided into three classes. The founder was Abdülhamid II , the year of the foundation was 1878.
The award could be earned for services in the war and in helping during major disasters .
Order decoration
The order decoration represented a sun. This was surrounded by a laurel wreath and a star. Everything was attached to the crescent moon with a star and hung on a white ribbon.
Ribbon
The ribbon was white and had a green-red border.
