Niamina

Niamina was a small empire in what is now the West African state of Gambia , on the Gambia River .

history

It was bordered to the north by the river, southwest by the empire Jarra, and southeast by the empire Eropina .

In the 19th century, Niamina was one of nine Mandinka empires on the southern bank of the Gambia.

The districts of Niamina Dankunku , Niamina West, and Niamina East in the Central River Region make reference to this empire.
