Life
Nic Weber grew up in a family with three siblings. He attended the Lyceum in Echternach. Professors as they only knew how to live here - petty-bourgeois at times, always great-humored. "
Because of the school strike in 1942 he was sent to a re-education camp in Stahleck , after which he was drafted into the flak in Esch / Alzette . He survived the so-called Ardennes offensive in his home village, which was affected by fighting.
From 1947 to 1953 Nic Weber studied Old German and Old English in Paris . He attended the Sorbonne , the «Haute Ecole de Journalisme», the «Ecole supérieure des Affaires Sociales, Etudes Internationales» and the «Ecole du Louvre». In 1950 he was hired as an editor at the "United Press".
In 1951 he married Miep HE Roselle. From 1953 he lived in Luxembourg again and worked there for the “Revue” and the “Tageblatt”. He was also secretary, cashier, vice-president and president of the Association of Journalists. From 1959 he worked for Radio Luxemburg ( RTL ), where he rose to the post of editor-in-chief.
