Music and lyrics

His songs consist of simple melodies. The accompanying music is based on a few chords and is mainly designed for guitars. He also preferred to incorporate the bandoneon into his music. The lyrics are mainly about the landscape, the customs and the simple life in his homeland, about which Molinare is sometimes sentimentally, as in Cura de mi pueblo , but also told with humor and onomatopoeic. Then it's about the twittering of a morning hammer, as in Chiu Chiu , or the crowing of a rooster in Cocorocó .

Molinare was mainly published by the RCA Victor label . His songs were interpreted there by the Mexican singer Juan Arvizu , or the Chilean folklore group Los Huasos Quincheros . Also Xavier Cugat and his orchestra have included many pieces Molinares in their repertoire. This also includes the song Chiu Chiu (Tchiou Tchiou), which is part of the soundtrack of the Hollywood film You were never enchanting (1942, German premiere on July 8, 1949). Molinare is well known in Chile, Mexico and Peru. His songs have also been covered many times around the world; the melody of Chiu Chiu is part of the drinking song Eisgekühlter Bommerlunder by the Düsseldorf band Die Toten Hosen and the carnival hit Prima, Prima Prümmcher by the Cologne group Bläck Fööss .
