Tim Göhlert (born September 15, 1984 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a former German football player .

Career

In his youth Göhlert played in his home country for Chemnitzer FC and VfB Fortuna Chemnitz . At the age of 18 he played for VfB in the Oberliga Nordost . At the age of 19 he went to Baden-Württemberg, where he joined the upper division SSV Ulm in 1846 . With the Ulmer Spatzen, however, he did not manage to become part of the team in two years.

This changed in 2005 with his move to league neighbor 1. FC Heidenheim . There the central defender immediately played all 34 games of the season and scored five goals. In the next few years he remained a reliable figure in the league team. In the league reform in 2008, the club managed to qualify for the new fourth-class Regionalliga Süd and the following year Heidenheim even became champions and rose to the third division . Göhlert made his professional football debut on July 25, 2009, when he was on the starting line -up in a 2-2 draw against Wuppertaler SV Borussia on the first day of the 2009/10 season and scored the goal to make it 1-0. In his first year in the third division, he seamlessly continued his previous achievements. The 2010/11 season started with a shock: On the first day of the match he was eliminated with a broken shin and only returned at the end of the season. The following year he was again the usual support in the defense. Heidenheim had the second best defense in the season with only 36 goals against. For the 2013/14 season Göhlert rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with 1. FC Heidenheim. He completed two seasons there with 36 appearances in the second highest division.

Göhlert, who has successfully completed a medical degree, announced on March 31, 2016 that he would end his professional career at the end of the season in order to turn to the medical profession in the future.
