Niccolò Pandolfini

Niccolò Pandolfini (* 1440 in Italy , † September 17, 1518 ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Life

Pandolfini was the oldest of five children of a Florentine patrician family and studied in Bologna. Since 1461 cathedral capitular in Florence, he was from 1462 to 1474 cleric of the apostolic chamber .

Bishop of Pistoia since December 23, 1474 , he was ordained episcopal shortly after his appointment . Pope Sixtus IV used him as governor in Benevento and Pope Innocent VIII gave him the abbey of S. Zenobio di Pisa as benefice . Pope Leo X elevated him to cardinal on July 1, 1517 and made him cardinal priest of the titular church of San Cesareo in Palatio on July 6, 1517 .
