Nicholas "Nick" Vogel (born February 5, 1990 in San Diego , California ) is an American volleyball player .

Career

Vogel began his career in 2004 at Steele Canyon High School. In 2007 he moved to Valhalla High School. At the same time he played for the Epic Volleyball Club since 2006. In 2009 the middle blocker, who also has German citizenship, began his studies at the University of California, Los Angeles , where he played on the UCLA Bruins team. In the same year he took part with the US national junior team at the World Cup in Pune , where the Americans finished eighth. In 2011 he reached fifth place with the senior national team at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara . After the end of his university career, Vogel joined the Greek association Panathinaikos Athens in 2012 . In 2013 he moved to the German Bundesliga club TV Bühl and in 2014 to the league competitor VfB Friedrichshafen . With Friedrichshafen, Vogel won the DVV Cup 2014/15 in the final against SVG Lüneburg . At the end of March he had to end the season prematurely for health reasons and missed participation in the playoff final for the German championship against the Berlin Recycling Volleys .
