Nicholson B. Adams

Nicholson Barney Adams (born November 6, 1895 in Fredericksburg , Virginia , † October 2, 1970 in Chapel Hill , North Carolina ) was an American Romanist and Hispanist.

life and work

Adams graduated from Columbia University . He received his doctorate there in 1922 with the work The Romantic Dramas of García Gutiérrez (New York 1922) and taught from 1924 to 1966 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . In 1958 he was President of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). Adams was a corresponding member of the Real Academia de Córdoba .
