Nick Birks

Nick Birks (actually Nicholas Napier Birks; born June 4, 1938 ) is a former Australian javelin thrower .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games he was ninth in Cardiff in 1958 . In 1962 in Perth he won bronze and in 1966 in Kingston silver.

Nine times he was Australian champion in javelin throw (1958–1961, 1963–1966, 1974) and three times in the decathlon (1961, 1962, 1964). His personal best in the javelin throw of 81.01 m he set up on February 24, 1962 in Adelaide .
