Nick Herbert

Nicholas Le Quesne "Nick" Herbert (born April 7, 1963 ) is a British politician .

Life

After leaving school in Haileybury , Herbert studied law and economics at Magdalene College , Cambridge . After graduating, he was employed by the British Field Sports Society , where he worked for six years. He then worked in the private sector and took part in the campaign against the euro and for the preservation of the pound sterling . Years later, in January 2016, he founded the group Conservatives for Reform in Europe , which campaigns for the United Kingdom to remain in the EU in the upcoming EU membership referendum. He stressed that with his anti-euro campaign at the time he never wanted to question the UK's EU membership.

In the 1997 general election for the British House of Commons, Herbert failed in Berwick-upon-Tweed . He has been a Member of the British House of Commons for the constituency of Arundel and South Downs since the 2005 general election .

Since May 2010, Nick Herbert Minister of State for Policing and Criminal Justice in the British Ministry of the Interior (Home Office).

Herbert lives in Arundel with his partner Jason Eades , whom he married in January 2009 .
