Nicklas Pedersen (born October 10, 1987 in Køge ) is a former Danish football player .

Herfølge BK and FC Nordsjælland (until the end of 2008)

Pedersen comes from the youth department of Herfølge BK . From 2005 he played in its first team and was relegated from the Danish first division. In August 2007 he moved to FC Nordsjælland and made his debut in the Danish first division on September 3, 2007 in the 2-1 defeat at Aalborg BK when he was substituted on in the 85th minute. 14 days later he scored his first first division goal for FC Nordsjælland in a 3-1 win against Esbjerg fB with the goal to 2-0. He made 13 appearances in his first season and scored three goals. FC Nordsjælland finished ninth; The club qualified for the UEFA Cup through fair play . Three and a half years in Groningen (early 2009 to 2012)

In the winter break of the 2008/09 season Pedersen moved to the Eredivisie for FC Groningen . He had a total of two league games in the 2008/09 season. The FC Groningen finished eighth at the end of the regular season and qualified for the play-offs for participation in the Europa League qualification; Pedersen contributed with five goals in 26 game matches. In the first round, FC Groningen failed at FC Utrecht . In KNVB Beker Pedersen came two appearances. In the 2010/11 season he played 22 times and scored six goals. The FC Groningen finished fifth. Pedersen played twice in the KNVB Beker. In the 2011/12 season he was injured in only 19 games. He also came to work for the reserve team ( FC Groningen II ) in the "Beloften Eredivisie".

Pedersen in the Belgian league (2012 to 2018)

For the 2012/13 season Pedersen moved to KV Mechelen in the Belgian Pro League . He came in regular game operations and the play-offs to 25 missions and twelve goals; KV Mechelen took third place. In the first half of the season he had his only two appearances in the Belgian Cup in the 2012/13 season.

In the summer of 2013, Pedersen moved to KAA Gent . In the 2014/15 season he won the Belgian championship with the team. On September 29, 2015 he made his debut in the Champions League at 1: 2 in the group stage match against Zenit St. Petersburg . KAA Gent finished second in the group and qualified for the round of 16.

On February 1, 2016, Pedersen switched to league competitor KV Ostend , where he signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with an option to extend. He completed a total of 19 games in the league. In 2017 he reached the cup final with the team.

In summer 2017 he returned to KV Mechelen and was relegated to the second division with the club at the end of the season.

Return to the Netherlands (2018)

In August 2018 Pedersen returned to the Netherlands and joined the first division promoted FC Emmen . He signed a one-year contract with an option for an additional year. Initially still part of the team, he later moved into the second tier and was no longer used after the 19th matchday at the end of January 2019. By then he had scored four goals in twelve league games for FC Emmen.

End of career (2019)

In May 2019, he ended his active career with a knee injury.

National team

Pedersen made his only U-20 international match on November 15, 2006 in a 1-0 win over Turkey. A year later, on August 22, 2007, he made his first international match for the Danish U-21 in the game against Norway in the starting XI. Pedersen was also used in qualifying for the 2009 U-21 European Football Championship . After two defeats in the relegation against Serbia , however, the team missed the qualification for the U-21 European Championship 2009. In total, he completed twelve games for the U-21.

On August 11, 2010 he made his debut for the Danish national team . He was in the starting line-up in the 2-2 friendly against Germany in Copenhagen . In the following qualification for the European Championship 2012 in Poland and Ukraine , he came to four missions. The Danish eleven qualified as group winners for the finals and then Pedersen was appointed to the squad by Morten Olsen in May 2012 , but he was not used in any of the three group games in the finals. He scored his first goal on June 5, 2013 in the friendly against Georgia (2-1) in Aalborg .
