Nicolás Freitas , full name Nicolás Andrés Freitas Silva , (born June 8, 1987 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.82 meter tall midfielder Freitas stood for the Apertura 2006 and Apertura 2008 in the squad of the Uruguayan first division side Club Atlético Bella Vista . Since the Apertura 2009, he played for the Chilean club Everton de Viña del Mar . He stayed there until 2011 and played a total of 60 games (five goals) in the Primera División in 2009 and 2010 and was used six times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores . In 2011 he joined the Club Atlético Peñarol on loan . In the 2010/11 season he was used in the "Aurinegros" seven times (no goal) in the Primera División . In the following season he ran 24 times (one goal) in the top Uruguayan league. He was also featured in 20 Copa Libertadores encounters with the Montevideans and scored three times. In the Copa Libertadores 2011 he reached the finals with the team. He then continued his career in 2012 as part of another loan station in Argentina at Rosario Central . In 2012/13 the Argentines played eleven games with his participation in the Primera B Nacional and one in the Copa Argentina . He didn't score a goal. After promotion to the Primera División and expiry of the loan, he returned to Everton in June 2013 and came there in the 2013/14 season to 23 further premier league appearances (no goal). In the Copa Chile he was also in a game (no goal) on the pitch. At Apertura 2014 he joined the Montevideo Wanderers . In the 2014/15 season he was used 13 times (one goal) in the Primera División. On February 11, 2015, three days before the planned start of Clausura 2015, his one-year loan move to Brazil to SC Internacional was announced using the release clause for an international transfer. For the Brazilians he played in 25 league games (no goal) and five times (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . After returning to the Wanderers at the end of the year, it was handed over to Peñarol in the first week of January 2016. There he was there in the Clausura 2016 once (no goal) in the league and three times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 . The "Aurinegros" were Uruguayan champions that season.
