Nicola da Forca Palena
Nicola da Forca Palena (born September 10, 1349 in Forca di Palena near Chieti , † October 1, 1449 in Rome ) was a Roman Catholic member of the Third Order of the Franciscans ( Ordo Franciscanus Saecularis ). Together with the Blessed Pietro Gambacorta, he co-founded the poor hermits of St. Jerome . In 1439 he founded the church of Sant'Onofrio al Gianicolo in Rome, where he was later buried. He was friends with Pope Eugene IV and Pope Nicholas V.
On August 27, 1771 he was beatified by Pope Clement XIV .
