Nicolae Marinica
Nicolae Bratu Marinica (* 4. December 1952 in Zarnesti , † in November 2009 in Traun ) was from Romania originating Austrian sculptor and painter .
Training and professional activity
Marinica attended the sculpture school in Bucharest from 1962 to 1964 . From 1972 to 1977 he studied history and philosophy at the University of Cluj . From 1981 he was a freelance sculptor and painter in Austria. In 1987 he joined the Mühlviertel artists ' guild and in 1994 took part in the sculptors' symposium in Traun. In 2003/2004 he headed the sculpture seminar at the Dr. Ernst Koref Foundation Linz.
Works
His works are in private and public collections, including the Städtische Galerie in Traun, the Landesgalerie Oberösterreich and the Federal Ministry for Education and Art in Vienna as well as at various locations abroad.
Some of his works have been exhibited in the sculpture park at Traun Castle since 2012 .
Exhibitions
In the period 1983 to 2009 Marinica developed a lively exhibition activity among other things within the framework of the Mühlviertel Artists Guild, partly also abroad.
