Nicolas Bonnet (born November 6, 1984 in Briançon ) is a French ski mountaineer and extreme athlete. He is also a mountain guide, racer and national coach.

He started ski mountaineering in 1998 and took part in his first competition in this sport in 2002. In total, he was French ski mountaineering champion six times, was world champion of the juniors in the vertical race in 2006 , and in the same year he also took first place in the juniors' category at Pierra Menta and first place on the short course at the Patrouille des Glaciers . In 2008 he took fourth place in the relay with Premat , Perrier and Piccot at the World Ski Mountaineering Championships , and tenth place with Premat in the World Cup team classification and at the Pierra Menta.

In a speed ascent with subsequent ski descent on April 12, 2007, he climbed the route from the starting point at 1,500 meters to the summit (3,946 m) and back in 3 hours and 18 minutes, thus holding the local speed record in ski mountaineering. Together with the two Germans Benedikt Böhm and Sebastian Haag , he planned the speed ascent with subsequent descent of Manaslu in Nepal. Despite a long wait for favorable weather conditions in the base camp, Bonnet initially turned around and Böhm and Haag also had to stop the expedition because of the danger of avalanches.
