Nicolas Dumont (cyclist)

Nicolas Dumont (born June 15, 1973 in Auxerre ) is a French road cyclist .

Nicolas Dumont won the overall classification at the Circuit de Saône-et-Loire in 1999. The next year he drove for the French team Besson Chaussures and in 2001 he moved to the Swiss team Phonak Hearing Systems . In the 2002 season Dumont won the overall standings at the Circuit des Ardennes and came second at the Ruban Granitier Breton . In the 2004 season he won a stage in the Tour de la Guadeloupe and in 2007 he was successful in a section of the Vuelta a la Independencia Nacional . At the Tour de la Guadeloupe 2009 Dumont won two stages and the overall standings. A year earlier, customs had confiscated medicines from him before the 2008 Tour de la Guadeloupe. He first testified it was vitamins, but a French court sentenced him in May 2013 to a six-month suspended sentence and a € 3,000 fine for possession of EPO , growth hormone and tetracosactide . The French association banned him until November 19, 2014.
