Nicolas Farkas
Nicolas Farkas (also Nikolaus Farkas , actually Miklós Farkas ; born July 27, 1890 in Hungary , † March 22, 1982 in New York ) was a Hungarian cameraman.
Live and act
Farkas came to Vienna in 1919 and the cameraman, trained in Hungary and Vienna, worked for Austrian film until 1924 . He filmed for Mihaly Kertesz , Alexander Korda , Hans Theyer and Robert Land , among others . In 1925 Farkas started working in Germany. Individual projects also took him to the Soviet Union and Poland . His last important projects included Berlin - Alexanderplatz (1931, directed by Phil Jutzi ) and Don Quichotte (1933, directed by Georg Wilhelm Pabst ).
After 1933 he worked in France, where he also worked as a director and writer. In 1941 he emigrated to the USA, where he took part in propaganda short films for the US Navy . Most recently he lived permanently in New York, where he ran his own small production company with Farkas Films Inc.
