Nicole Farhi
Nicole Farhi CBE (born July 25, 1946 in Nice ) is a British fashion designer from France who has been running her own fashion label under her name since 1983 and has received several awards.
Life
Nicole Farhi first worked as a freelance fashion designer before moving to London to work with Stephen Marks at French Connection and Marks' own fashion label. In 1983 she finally founded her own label. It is known for comfortable, uncomplicated clothing with soft structures and unobtrusive colors made from high-quality materials. Her label also sells household goods.
For her designs she not only won the British Classis Award in 1989 , but also the British Fashion Award for British Contemporary Designer three times in succession in 1995, 1996 and 1997 .
Nicole Farhi, who has been married to British playwright and screenwriter David Hare since 1992 , was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2007.
