Nicole Westig

Nicole Westig (born November 13, 1967 in Menden ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and a member of the 19th German Bundestag .

biography

Nicole Westig grew up in her birthplace and passed her A-levels there in 1987. From 1988 she studied Romance Studies , Hispanic Studies and Public Law at the University of Bonn , graduating with a Magistra Artium in 1996. She then worked for the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Businesses , after which she worked independently in the press and public relations department. From 2008 to 2014 she was a speaker for Gerhard Papke for the FDP , after which she switched to fundraising in the charitable area.

Party and politics

Westig joined the FDP and the Young Liberals in 1987. She was a member of the State Board of Young Liberals for four years. She had a mandate in the Rheinbreitbach municipal council , later from 2014 in the district assembly in the Rhein-Sieg district as deputy parliamentary group leader. In the 2017 federal election , she entered the Bundestag via her party's state list. Westig is the spokeswoman for the FDP parliamentary group on care policy.
