Nicolette Hellemans
Nicolette Hellemans (born November 30, 1961 in Groningen ) is a former Dutch rower .
Career
The 1.69 m tall Nicolette Hellemans won the bronze medal in the double sculls in 1979 at the Junior World Championships . At the 1983 World Championships Nicolette Hellemans finished fifth in the double scull with her sister Greet Hellemans . The following year, four of the six boats from the World Cup final of the previous year were missing from the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles because of the Olympic boycott of the Eastern Bloc countries. In Los Angeles, Mărioara Popescu and Elisabeta Lipă , who were third in the World Cup last year, won; behind the two Romanians, the Dutch women won silver ahead of the Canadians. The Hellemans sisters also competed with the Dutch eight and won the bronze medal in this boat class behind the US boat and the Romanians.
