Nicollet is an impact crater to the southwest of the front of the moon in the Mare Nubium plain , east of Bullialdus crater and west of Birt . The crater is hardly eroded with a flat bottom.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French mathematician and geographer Joseph Nicolas Nicollet .
