Never Yuanzi

Nie Yuanzi ( Chinese  聂元梓 Pinyin : Niè Yuán zǐ; * April 5, 1921 Huaxian (Prov. Hunan ); † August 28, 2019 ) was the university assistant at Peking University whose wall poster on May 25, 1966 depicted the beginning of the Cultural Revolution .

In the early 1960s she was never an assistant at the Department of Economics at Peking University and later moved to the Department of Philosophy. Because of ideological issues, she was involved in a serious conflict with the university rector Lu Ping ; Because of this conflict, it was never generally classified as radical left. In May 1966, she was instigated by Kang Sheng and his wife to write and publish her wall poster. During the Cultural Revolution, Nie then chaired the Cultural Revolution Committee at Peking University.

After the end of the Cultural Revolution, Deng Xiaoping personally campaigned to ensure that never was tried. The sentence was very high at 10 years in prison. This is attributed to Deng's belief that Nie was personally responsible for the torture of his son Deng Pufang .
