The Dutch dead from Hamburg and the surrounding area, who died in concentration camps , through Nazi forced labor and during what is known as labor, are buried in the graves . 350 Dutch victims who perished in German concentration camps during the Second World War rest in the war cemetery itself. The names of the hundred Dutch victims who perished in concentration camps, but of whom it is not known where they are buried, are also named on three plaques. The sculpture is a variant of the Monument of the Falling Man by Cor van Kralingen for the victims of the Neuengamme concentration camp .
