Niedertraubling

Niedertraubling is part of the municipality of Obertraubling in the Regensburg district in Bavaria . With almost 700 inhabitants, Niedertraubling is the third largest district of Obertraubling.

history

From around 1800 BC Chr. (Tumulus or Bronze Age) stool graves are preserved in Niedertraubling. A Roman farm already existed in Niedertraubling in the 3rd century AD.

The name goes back to the noble family of Traubling, who ruled the land in the 11th century alongside the "Gebelkofener'n" . In Niedertraubling there was a moated castle, the Traubling Castle . In 1340 the castle was stormed and besieged in 1492 in the Löwler war.

On January 1, 1971, Niedertraubling was incorporated into the municipality of Obertraubling.

Culture and sights

In the village there is the Church of St. Peter with furnishings from the Baroque period . There is also the Altes Schloss inn , which was built on the remains of the medieval Traubling Castle .
