Nierembergia rivularis is a plant from the genus of white mug ( Nierembergia ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Nierembergia rivularis is a creeping plant with rooting stems. The leaves are almost always hairless, they are 14 to 67 mm long and 4.3 to 11.6 mm wide. The petiole reaches lengths of 3.4 to 46 mm.
The flowers are on an approximately 1 mm long peduncle . The calyx is about 11.8 mm long and covered with 3.2 mm long calyx tips. The white colored crown has a 19 to 33 mm diameter coronet and a 24 to 75 mm long coronet tube. The pollen grains form tetrads.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.
Occurrence
The species grows on moist, partially flooded soils near the shore. The occurrence is limited to the catchment area of the Río Paraná - Mar del Plata in the Argentine provinces of Salta , Corrientes and Buenos Aires , as well as in Bolivia , Brazil and Uruguay .
